Vistaprint are good but a bit expensive even hwen they have decent sales on. I used leaflet frog and got double sided and 300gsm thickness for what I'd paid for 150gsm and single sided at vistaprint (same quantity)

Also, if you speak to any marketing expert they'll tell you to promote your 'USP' (unique selling point) as a business, in other words WHY should they use you over and above someone else...trouble is often identifying a suitable 'USP'.

 

Perhaps being local, perhaps offering the full tree service inc. stump grinding, perhaps offering a FREE quote (altho most do anyway), perhaps being qualified AND accredited , perhaps all of these...and more, or some.

there's much to selling , people buy from businesses , people like to buy from people especially if they are seen as credible,

 

check out how others do it research those methods and adapt for your own business goals .,

Do the best you can to leave a good job behind you, tidy job, and friendly. Treat your customers like it was the king and queen you was working for.

Travel around and check your surrounding, don't be afraid to knock doors if you see a tree you think could be taken out or shaped. To be confident is the most important factor to success.

For me when i started doing trees some while back the local papers was my main income, Have a tidy vehicle with a logo on it.

Always smile.

 

When i did the tree surgery i target only areas where i knew folks had money, the reason for that is they do understand we all trying to meet the ends and you don't have to cut your prices to low.

The last thing I would want as a homeowner is someone knocking on my door asking to take down a tree. It would make me think of "traveling" people just doing a bit of tarmacing in the area who happen to have a bit left!"

I agree,I would never employ a door knocker nor would I do it.
