What size bar on 50cc saws

Interested to hear what size bars people are running on what saws for felling and snedding and a comfy productive day in the woods.

Dolmars stihls and huskys as I'm trying to narrow down what I want on one.

I've just brought a 550xp with a 15inch bar and like it but IMO that's it's limit in hardwood but then I like the smallest bars on saws, I.e 20 inch on a 660 etc

The old rule of thumb is divide the cc by 3 and that gives you max bar length in inches . So 16" downwards if you use that formula

I thought you liked a 13" on a 50cc saw Matty, 13-15" would be my choice, just depends on the next saw size you are using. If it was a 660 wearing a 2' bar then 15 - 16"...............and so on!

I'm running a standard 14'' bar on my new 201T. This replaces the 020AV. I'm probably going to buy a 560 Husky and have a 15'' & a 18'' bar but perhaps a 20'' may be handy too......I'm still trying to decide.

I run a 15" on my 346XP, but a guy I've been working with runs an 18" on his all the time and seems to get on fine with it.
