This petition just ain't going to work, is it? I've been converted over to Aspen. I'm an occasional user and take the extra cost "up me ribs"

I just can't see it working with the lads that are using (rakes of fuel) every day.

Or is it apathy? The im alright, feck you, Jack, brigade that are stopping the fuel duty being cut?

I believe you're right. Unless it is clearly shown that people are dying (rather than getting a few headaches) this will be a low priority.

People have been using chainsaws a long time, I've yet to see evidence of industrial illness resulting from fumes.

Good post mate, it's just common sense to sign it.

Also dear readers consider as pointed out before on this thread, ethanol levels in pump fuel are rising, & our saws do not like the stuff long term, so in time to come we may find it our best option to use aspen ( I do already) rather than repair bills, note Husky endorse it's use, & Stihl have their own version.

The health implications are being researched, but it is early days, & some countries it is required that you use it in hand tools.

Hmm.. OK, I signed this last night but made a mental note to look up some info about Change.org..

Im thinking it might not be best place to have this petition as also mentioned by another on here. There is an official channel for these things at - HM Government e-petitions

Also did a little reading up - Change.org Reviews - Consumer Reviews of Change.org | SiteJabber

Since signing up last night I have already had two emails from them regarding other petitions, so had to unsubscribe from those. I also didnt like it asking me for money afterwards to "boost the campaign".

Just doesnt seem the correct platform to me.

IMO someone should setup a new petition via the link i posted above, yes it will need 100k of votes to get a chance of being discussed in the commons but i feel it would stand more chance of working that way.

Once its setup maybe Steve could spam all the Arbtalk members with a PM and a link to the petition? Get other forums to do the same...?

We use Aspen in everything from the '88 to the blower, be great to cut the cost even a little.

Just my 2cents..

This thread/petition proves that fellow arbs or whatever else we call ourselves don't help each other, unless it helps ourselves!

The mind boggles at times.

From what I've seen on Arbtalk I think that's not true.

I think the petition is slow to gather signatures because there is little emotion to attach to.... it's just the nature of the subject. Cheers, Steve
