UK winter weather ~ more wind & rain every year hereon?

Last winter was great, seemed to rain mostly at night, OK the land got very bad, but we did not seem to loose many days work.

 

I counted 5 frosts the whole of last winter.

 

Much the same here only it rained all day as well.

 

Love to think we will have a good splash this autumn followed by a nice cold dry winter with a bit of the old white stuff. Suspect it will be generally warm and wet with with the odd cold day but one can dream.

Hopefully we won't see the floods again. Don't mind the wind though. Plenty opportunity for free wood

For last few years now the jet stream doesn't seem to move for months at a time, like this summer when we had such good weather for months and like last winter where we were battered by rain.

 

I think the jet stream has moved in for a wet autumn but will shift again come December time giving long periods of dry cold weather.

 

That's what I am hoping for anyway.

Got coastal and high ground flood warnings here at the moment (South West Wales).

Have already started getting lots of wind and rain.

Lost a tarp in our haystack and a lot of bales got swamped

It can get as cold as it likes. I got a smokeless zone defra approved woodburner now with a stack of logs split & ready.

 

Got my shorts ready for winter too!!

Speak for Y'self mate. It's dry, still and warm here. Forcast for the next few days looks the same.
