I have to try harder to make my imagination take charge of my eagerness to finish the job and in doing that, take a moment to see the potential rather than smashing through it to get cleared up. The dilemma is how to realise a monetary value from it so that it is more than 'hobby work' and more like an alternative income stream.

yea, know what you mean. I think reading these threads will pay off at some point and taking 5 minutes to consider the possibilities before charging in will also help. Once I have tried a few things hopefully it will become easier to spot the potential. :001_rolleyes:

Some simple benches for my daughter's school, larch milled with the alasken then sanded and sculpted with a 9"angle grinder.

What are you using on the 9" grinder? I've got 4 1/2" flap wheels for the little grinder but have been looking for 9" sanding pads and I think I'm more confused than before I started looking

Got sorted in the end Kevin and an apology from head about it all.

Bobh, got 7" 80grit flap disks for it which fair shift timber but leave quite a smooth finish, also remove skin so be careful, ended up with a good gash on my ring finger that needed glueing and sherry stitches.

That is pretty much it - getting paid for it rather than doing it for fun... no easy answer to that one!
