berghaus ones, think aquafoil. good zips so on and off over boots and saw trousers no bother. i have two pairs as so great. one for work and one for first responder shifts.

I've got the berghaus deluge, £16 off amazon, they're really good too 👍

found a gill dingy smock total waterproof neoprene neck and cuffs

Gill Dinghy Top

Gill Dinghy Top

£49.95 inc. VAT

(EUR 63.39) from marine superstore .com plus postage

has a small zip in top so easy to pull off and lightweight.

I tried one of these types on- the problem I had with it was when you put your arms in the air the bottom rides up above your belly exposing it to the elements. I think the ideal jacket needs to cover your bum.

If you want an amazing jacket, I use the ex army goretex jacket. Nice and loose to help vent, hood fits over the helmet when lashing, affordable €70 and completely waterproof. The zip starts just above the waist so your harness is easy to access.

The sleeves will let in water if you have your arms up but you could easily get neoprene bands to sleeve over jacket and wrist(old wetsuit forearms).

Mine is 5 years old and still using it,

Best of luck

Eoin

Anyone wear Barbour?

A colleague has bought one recently, and it seems very nice. At a touch over £200 it should be.

He wears it for work. I'm envious, and am considering one. Probably wouldn't wear it for work though. I've already got a Cut n Climb.

I found Barbour way too heavy to use at work. Cut and climb now. I have 3:)

Everyone raves about ex-army stuff.

All the jackets I've bought have been awful, like sieves.

I don't like DPM either, on the basis that I'm not a serial rapist.

Treequip nailed it earlier.

Truly waterproof and breathable when it's lashing down is a myth.
