Using a chainsaw in a public place

Question

Posted

Just out of interest how would an individual stand in the eyes of the law if he/her used a chainsaw without suitable PPE, without insurance or training in a public place with no warning signs etc?

I'm in as well. Simple words of wisdom. Probably only getting revenge on you. Is what will become of it. Express your opinion to people, when it goes wrong they will respect your opinion.

I'd leave them to it and they will soon finish what they are doing and go away. (It's probably me anyway ;) ) Oh no I have PPE so it's not me, carry on and tell him the error of his ways. I always remember on the local flea market a tool stall had sold someone a chainsaw ans he brought it back as it wouldn't tick over. The stall holder drop started it in the middle of the busy market and was revving the nuts off it with no brake. I mentioned to him that he was not safe and was spraying chain oil everywhere then left quickly with the wife in tow.

( you can't use a chainsaw in a Public Place ( even wearing a 'Scream' mask , god knows why... )  unless yr a contractor with all the appropriates in place, plenty of legal bricks will fall on yr head otherwise )

I would lmagine it has been sorted out by now, almost 6yrs later.

Ignoring any legal liabilities, if he's taking the timber then it will be theft unless he has permission.

Does depend what you are using it for. Don't want to speculate too much but if it's firewood and not at unsocial hours then crack on. TPO trees felling in the middle of the night not recommended.

Was he chopping up bodies?

That would be bloody reckless without PPE whilst all this Chogi flu is about....
