My quad got nicked a few years ago, they went through 5 good quality padlocks on chains, gates and doors, if they have the gear to cut 1 they can cut 100.the most annoying thing was that it could have been on a job that night but we took the tractor instead. I like to keep my gear on the move now, sometimes on site, sometimes at home, sometimes on the trailer behind the truck etc.

Double doors with alarm vibration sensors on both. If the first one is breached, the GPRS linked alarm is calling for backup. I can be there in 30 seconds with the shotgun so you better be quick getting through that second steel door.

I said earlier cheap is ok, I should caveat that with if you go cheap you'll need more layers.

So over the weekend we've fitted better locks on the doors, chains and an alarm to which a mate has fitted a relay that switches on a couple of flood lights and a recorded message along the line of 'smile for the camara and the Police have been called'.

Although it has been suggested or actually said for threads like this to be in the members only forum or exchanging PM'S between one another, I see that the more things change the more they stay the same. My advise, don't say anything about security or theft prevention on an open forum. Don't take pictures of your company trucks or trailers with contact information for theives to in time steal what ever they can from you.

When and if the government decides to actually arrest, punish with either long term prison sentences or permanent deportation or exile of said criminals shal any real change

for the better ever take place. Please keep the preasure up against your elected officials and hold them accountable for what is happening, and not happening.
