Spiders anyone ?

Last year we had a garden spider which put up a web over our window every morning and took it in at night. I was catching flies in the house and throwing them on the web to watch it run out and take them away and wrap them up. It grew quite big with all the bluebottles I kept giving it and the entertainment it created was a nice diversion as well. None of the UK spiders bites are dangerous as far as I can tell, not even as potent as a wasp sting.

Some do have nasty venom, but none (other than false widow) have mouth parts capable of breaking human skin, so we are safe

Wouldn't of been a false widow there tiny, the "big" uk spider is almost always a tegeneria gigantica and that's a big hairy galloping beast.

I remember living in flat in Edinburgh which had massive spiders, you used to hear their claws clicking on the wooden floor when they were running across it - and I'm not joking!

Was a tenement flat and occasionally you would hear shrieks coming from the stairwell, that was always sign that one of them was out and about saying hello to the girls next door.

Any ideas what type of spider? Found inside the house, think it but the Mrs on the back of the neck, nasty itchy bite!

That is a scotophaeus blackwalli or mouse spider pretty much found in every corner of the uk... Can be pretty big at times too but doubt it's bitten anyone

That's definitely tegeneria species but without a clear carapace and abdomen shot it's impossible to tell which one...at a guess if say

T. Duellica judging by the stupidly long femurs
