Hi guys, I have often read and been told that alder is a poor firewood so I have always avoided it but a mate of mine handed some In the other night and I can honestly say everything I have read and been told is utter nonsense it burns long and hot with good flames boils the kettle in no time at all and leaves an excellent coal bed.

give it a go you will be pleasantly surprised
