Halfords advance are good quality as said get a trade card (all you need is a business card that says you are a mechanic ;-) )

I am a big snap on fan but facom and beta are good, teng not so much anymore.

I have mostly Teng, all been excellent so far.

 

Britool, Facom and Snap On are all good but more expensive.

You need to be serious to buy Stahlwille for yourself at full price though. I bought a Stahlwille 1/4" ratchet for £9 should have been £38

Snap-On all day. The wife hates it when the van turns up because she knows I am going to blow £100-£200.

I have many tools accumulated over a 40 year career. My first tools were mostly Elora, bought in 1974 and I still have most of them now.

 

Since then I have added Britool and Facom socket sets.

 

Adjustable spanners from Bahco, they really are the best, as are Vise-grip wrenches (from Irwin) Never buy molegrips, only ever buy vise-grips.

 

Facom screwdrivers and torx drivers last much longer than Snap-on.
