Question?? I'm wanting to traverse into a neighbouring tree I throw my throwline over the branch of the said tree how the hell do I get it back to me to be able to set my rope? I've tried to pendulum my throw bag but I'm buggered if I can get it back to me

Practice boomerang throwing. I set up a scaffold bar to play with at home. You should be able to get the bag to completely stop swinging, then start it up, build momentum and launch it back to yourself. There's a good bit about how to do it in 'the fundamentals of general tree work' by Jerry Beranek. Great game to play with kids too.

Still practice that now after seeing you do it ages ago, as regards to retrieving the throwball I saw a video a while ago where he threw the ball over the limb then attached a grapple to the throwline then the weight of the grapple would allow it to swing over to the throwball over the limb, and then the grapple snags of the throwbag and you can retrieve it all will try and find the video

Carry a separate 15mtr to 20mtr length of climbing rope with a small folding crippling hook. Throw over good strong limb and just sort out a good repelling technique
