I reckon personally about 60' with a decent degree of accuracy.

After 15 misses I've achieved over 300' in a random direction fit of rage though.

Don't have a big shot, I live in England.

Personally, 20ft with any degree of accuracy.

Any hand throw at a tree over 22ft tall results in broken roof tiles or dented car roofs, in neighbouring property.

I have a BigShot with an archery trigger. The ultimate aid for the incompetent climber.

I live in England too.

Funny thread! That mag throwbag is very cool.

I use slip blood knot to attach throwbags as it is sturdy and very quick to tie and untie. One bag on each end, different weights. Tailor made throwbags (was in India and needed throwbags) using a ring and two layers of canvas with lead fishing weights inside.

Using some crappy standard throwline. Broke 3 times yesterday. Don't get crappy throwline.

Throw using the twirling method (like a sling?)

I used a big shot a few times but found I could throw higher with comparable accuracy. I needed shoulder surgery shortly afterwards though...

With regards to getting an anchor in another tree I use a purpose made throwing hook on a 15m rope and a micro traxion. A prussik works too of course but the micro traxion is super quick to set up and lets you take in slack on that with the pantin while releasing on your climbing system for a really smooth and speedy transition.
