Just finished making a couple of these. One for a client and one for us as we were still using one I made on my training 20+ years ago that quite frankly I hated :laugh1: The wood is American cherry with an oil finish.

Hmmm?

Unsure of the leg detailing/mounting/jointingin respect of longitudinal stability (i.e. a heavy bloke planting his arse on the end of the table)

Will the dovetails not be likely to pull out or leastwise lack strength in that direction (regardless of glue used)

To my eye this detail just looks "wrong"

This was a concern with my first one of these but that was 25 years ago and my parents still use it every day :001_tongue::001_smile:

 

Ps. Its a big old joint and the wood is to use an engineering term an interference fit so the glue does not have much work to do.
