"Crown", get this quite often "I just want them all crowning" :confused1:

When you ask them to elaborate on this they normally get all confused, and have absolutely no idea what they want....

Crown thin (no amount) -- when asked by how much they say "just make them look nice" I wanted to walk away from them, an avenue of 12 Prunus padus that have never been touched

To be fair, on LA contracts where thousands of trees are being inspected and worked on, a detailed work specification is unfeasible.

I also worked on contracts where 'general prune' was one of the common instructions. Actually, this can be ok as long as the scope of a 'general prune' is defined somewhere so everyone knows what it does (and doesn't!) mean.

On LA contracts you could simply use codes for each job, which are referenced in a tree works specification manual...

I've been asked to remove a couple of Ash branches for firewood, couple turned out to be many.

Customer "oh, I thought it would only take 20 mins? £100 alright"?

every time i have to ask him where as london is a big place!

the phone call with " how much to cut my tree" is almost weekly.

umm where is it? how big is it?
