I work for a company like that. Just because they are big doesn't mean they don't know the value of a quid. Don't go in with a silly invoice, just bill them like you have done with a bit extra for the nature of the call-out. :001_smile:

A fair price goes along way with contracts. If you overcharge you will lose work, :)

4 figures then.. Lovely

For a little job like that it would be taking a liberty imo.

Whilst we have to earn a living, I do believe if called out to a job, windblow or whatever, it is our responsibility to be fair in our charges if asked to sort the problem, then bill the job without previous quotation.

To take advantage & invoice sky high is, again imo, not a sign of a good honest tradesman, something we aspire to be on here.

Look at it another way, mr general public comes on here, & sees what looks like tradesmen rubbing there hands together at the opportunity to invoice in an inflated manner, not a good image.:001_smile:

Normal rate plus25% got to be fair to both party's got loads more work by treating people like that.

Was working in a local village last year when a lady asked us to go round and look at a tree that had partially split out over the drive. Finished the job we were on went round climber got it all sorted . Went back next morning cleared up all in all 4 hours work so half a day + 25% she was over the moon another company wanted to get a picker in and charge her £1250. Turned out her husband was M D at a local business that has led to a lot of work.
