I looked at these to replace my Unimog but discovered that a (useless) 3.5t tipper is better suited to how my business is at the moment.

They make very good sense because the payload is ok as long as the chip box is light and they are short wheel base.

Are these Ex French and Italian Army Trucks?

I has a look at some when I was over in Germany looking for a Mog.Nice compact Trucks.

How is the turning Circle on them?

8/12 k plus everything else seems steep when you can pick up an rb44 or daf for under 5k,

Its a lot of truck for the money in comparison.. the RB44 is only 5.5t I believe and the DAF although cheap is massive, heavy and requires HGV, so for a 4x4 7.5t I think the MAN is good value IMO

What a cracking little truck. A few years a go one of the lads fitted a M.A.N cab on a u900 mog. He managed to make it right hand drive and retain the tilt cab. It was a bit rough but the concept was a good one.

I saw that once, it was the ugliest mog I have ever seen, brought a tear to my eye, poor thing.

If it's the one I think it was, I nearly went to look at it a few years ago - it did look a bit peculiar, but in wasn't very much money for what it was.
