Here you go Stephen, a bit of a grab upgrade for her to a 0.2 grab and 3 tonne rotator.

The Bucket inserts were bought for this project and are working brilliantly. I think they'll come in really handy.

Eddie.

HI STEPHEN there down the somerset leaves now with out the crane moving loads and loads of mud thanks jon

That's not a peg!

I like to leave them long enough they stop the grab opening!!

I only do it as a feller moaned at me once on 1 of my jobs!

I had to explain in the wood the tree was worth £4!

I'd just done a grand by 2 pm with lots of pegs and a big high stump!

And I gave the wood away:)

LGP EDDIE - Thats a great set up you have there

Ive got a 2.5 tonne jcb with fixed grab which works well and am considering upscaling to a larger machine with rotating grab, however from looking at the weight of a rotating grab of around 500-700kg on a 8 tonne machine it doesnt give you much capability to lift larger pieces of wood at full reach when attached does it:confused1:

If you're looking at an 8 tonner, the grab you need is a Kinshoffer D09HPX, which is a fantastic bit of kit perfectly matched to this class of machine.

The HPX drive gives many advantages by not having any ram or exposed pipework, plus the gripping power available is massive.

It really is the neatest setup you can get without getting on the Tiltrotator route.

As for capacity, my 8 tonne Kubota even with long dipper and nearly 600kg of Engcon and Grab will handle and lay 650mm diameter concrete pipes of 1250kg in weight no problem and that's a fair lump in timber terms?
