should I bill her

I am in two minds, the issue is that I was asked to quote for some tree work in a conservation area. I quoted and the customer accepted the quote I applied to the council to do the work while this was going through she decided not to go ahead with the work as she was moving so cancelled.

I get back from a weekend away and the trees are gone.

So should I just bill her for professional services (applying to the council) or just let it be.

And how much should it be if I do charge.:blushing:

I would be interested in your thoughts

Regards

If it's going to require paperwork with the council, it's £60 up front, which is refunded against the cost of the job if I do it.

Did she actually move? Have the new people had them taken out, perhaps ignorant of a conservation area? Or is she a Grade A timewaster?

that sounds about right saw it in local rag went round offered to do it for less as no paperwork. and sadly you lost out to these guys. may have a job on getting any of your time spent doing leg work. maybe when doing quotes use the template its all in writing then you can say if they do decide to cancel its x for doing the council work.

a bad one i am afraid lesson learnt.

i get it a fair bit quote only to find person get someone else to do work even thought they said can you do it but need a price then come back o we got jonny down road to do it. who does not have overheads insurance and its a QT job so does it cheap as it will be cash in hand
