  1. Hello I hope you can help me raise some money for Charity and have a chance of winning a caravan WIN A CARAVAN for a £ 5.00 Yes that right the Rotary club of Mendip has been given a caravan and other prizes to raffle off for charity by Baileys of Bristol Caravans. All the money raised is for Macmillan Cancer Support and other local charities. The caravan is a Pegasus 2018 model ( and you can choose which one you want from the range up to £20K). There are other prizes as well. Please have a look at www.winacaravan.org for more information. If you can support I would be very grateful Tilleytrees

  14. I am in the south west and we charge out at £ 200/ man per day plus the vat with two trucks and a chipper. We are lucky to be busy. People do tell me that I am notcheap but the quality is there and they are Always suprised how much we get done and then say we are not that much different to the rest, in the area. My rate has not gone for about 5 yrs and feel that the rate should be about £ 600. Plus the vat/ Day. Fat chance The issue is the under current of New tree surgeons not charging enough and generally doing it for nothing. ( they seem to be about for a couple of years and then disappear). As for logs well I did have a customer who was suprised I had not put it up from last year. But again to many people running around delivering for nought. But on ghe bright side I am still here 14 yrs later so should not moan really
  15. We looked into buying some woodland and in the research we found out you can erect a barn without permission under pemissive development off the top of my head the shed can be 60 ft by 20ft but it has to be so many meters from the rd. It must be used for the storage of Wood and machinery used in wood land.
  16. There is also another issue with the saw dust it will be contaminated with chain oil so it would not be any good for smoking (I would of thought). I have started to bag mine up in dumpy bags to do something else with it but it is looking more likely that it is going to go on the chip heap.
  17. I am in two minds, the issue is that I was asked to quote for some tree work in a conservation area. I quoted and the customer accepted the quote I applied to the council to do the work while this was going through she decided not to go ahead with the work as she was moving so cancelled. I get back from a weekend away and the trees are gone. So should I just bill her for professional services (applying to the council) or just let it be. And how much should it be if I do charge. I would be interested in your thoughts Regards tilleytrees
