Skyhucks Mog was based on the Mog we had, so he told me. The biggest problem with big kit is that it needs to be out everyday earning it's keep, so it ends up going out on jobs it's not really suited to. Of course, common sense would say take out the

Roadrunner instead of the Mog, but then that's another gang that can be doing something else. There isnt a perfect vehicle for Arb work, everything is going to be just a compromise. No two jobs are the same, hedgetrimming one day and massive take downs the next Transits aren't ideal, overweight with your sandwiches on the back, and the way they're clamping down it's hardly worth the hassle tbh.

I guess if I was in a postion to look at something it would be along the lines of Peter Haines truck, good capacity, capable of lifting timber out, or have a bin and chip into it.

Yes but mines a short wheel base with 4 wheel steer, I have never had issues getting onto site, mine will go any where a transit will go.

Plus my crane has twice the reach the one yours had, so I don't need to get as close

Trucks only come in two sizes, to big and to small.

A couple of smaller trucks can work out well. Tipping trailer behind one and a chipper behind the other and you have some real capacity and flexibilty, especially if your hauling wood and mulch.

Rule of thumb for truck size for me is that if your needing to dump more than once a day, once a week, it might be time to look at increasing your capacity, but these may not be needed if your turn around to dump is less than an hour.

That's exactly what works for me and what I'm doing. Two small tippers with tow balls means more versatility for taking chipper, trailer, stump grinder and moving logs and chips.

Its not common and very rare on short wheel base machines, in fact mine is one of only two ever built that are 200hp, short wheel base and full ag spec.

So "your" ultimate arb truck is something that's as rare as hens teeth????

Saying there is an ultimate Arb truck is like saying there's one paint brush to suit all applications.

There isn't one truck that suits all.

Mine does me for 70 percent of my work, some jobs I wish I had an 18 tonner, some a tractor, others I wish I had an helicopter
