I really don't get this. There are loads of lads on here who are looking for work. Someone grab a tent, chuck it in the back of ya motor and get ya self over there. I reckon there is a weeks work to be had here. Put the hours in, lets say ten a day. End of the week you've got six hundred quid. Ok you will have to pay to camp some where and feed ya self. But it's still a good few quid. Or is cutting and splitting logs below some people?

I agree, don't need the work myself, but if i was closer is do it for the crack/exercise/security. Maybe the unemployment figures are not as bad as were led to believe?

Totally agree, how many on here complain about lack of work, need experience etc, like you say, grab a tent and off you go, campfire and beer on a night. If i was out of work, i would be straight on it.

its the hard work that scares the most of them away, see lots of youngsters coming out of colleges and schemes thinking the "timber" industry owes them a living now, "I've got a chainsaw ticket, I must be worth at least £15-00 an hour", seems to be the war cry round here, the common reply is usually "get yersell tae fu*ck", minimum wage and hard graft scares the rest away
