Rubbish Hard drives

Is it me or are things getting cheaper and more rubbish.

 

I've had a Laptop two months and the Hard drive has packed up already.

 

Thing is, this is the furth Hard drive in two years

 

I've had three laptop hard drives go and one desk top.

 

Two were in warranty and two were just out. I now back up everything weekly, I am now on a the wifes laptop, she's none too pleased I'm arbtalking on hers

 

Is this a common problem ?

This is the common problem as I dont have the camera software on mine i use hers for it, it gives her the right hump.

Never had a problem with the hard drives though.

I don't know how common a problem it is Dean,but mine has done two Hard drives in two years.In fact its been back to the shop seven times during two years!Because no one thing has gone wrong three times,they won't give me a new one.

 

I just think that sometimes you buy a machine that was built when everyone involed in manufacture had a hangover.

I have inspiron 9300, had it for over 4 years only been back to them once.

 

Just ordered 2 new lap tops from Dell, they are coming with 3 years home repair, any problems, they come too me, evenings and weekend included.

 

IME, great firm to deal with.

I used to have dell, infact one of the kids is still using it and it never broke down, the one I have now is a Compaq CQ60 whatever that is.

Wouldnt touch any other make tbh apart from either a mac or poss an alienware!

Hp at the moment, but a macbook pro will cut through any hard drive problems with £2000 worth of quality.

TUT- rubbish !

 

I got an Elonex laptop -solid state HD ( a flash drive basically) no moving parts inside, Linux Ubuntu OS so no virus problems. Tiz the way forward ( an white-so it looks like Mac book Weighs a pound or so. Stop messin around with this Microsoft junk.

I had a Compaq desktop computer nothing but problems with the hard drive, got to be the worst piece of shite ive ever owned. Got a sony vaio laptop now apsolutley fantastic.
