Very enjoyable programme this week, feet up with the open fire roaring with countryfile on makes for a good sunday! Nice to see hedge laying getting mainstream telly coverage.

[Dorset Hedgelayer]

on tonight's programme had a bit on the hedgelaying comp at highgrove home of prince Charles. he was laying some hedge. and saw some top cutters in action Alan ashby of kent laying south of england good to see on main stream telly.

did you get a invite Dorset. doing many styles.

been out all evening just been told about it, tried to Iplayer it, not on yet, and no must they must have lost me address either that or "Dorset" whats that:001_tongue:, Ill catch it tomorrow

I would have watched it except for the sight of that tranny Julia Bradbury going all goo-goo eyes at that arch prat Charles!

 

He promotes more in our types of work than any other high-profile person, and to be hedge laying in his 60's and the fact he has the ability not to bother, he could quite easily have somebody do it for him, the bloke earns my respect! Lets see some of those parliamentary prats break a sweat and do a days work!

Whereabouts in the Ribble Valley are you? I was a chainsaw steward at the hedgelaying competition on the A59 site a couple of times.

Prince Charles is a great person that does a great deal for the rural cumunity . Nice to see some rural crafts on tv. Ben fogle years of adventures was on yesterday with him climbing a giant redwood did anyone see it
