Can anyone spot where a potential wear problem could occur ?

I haven't seen any wear problems with mine so far, infact I think used with a friction saver they are the best mechanical friction hitch to date. I've been using lock jack for over 6 years now

The wear occurs when the Rope runs out of the device and over the side plates insteat of the pulley. Thats my expirience so far.

Just watch out for that and you'll be fine...

True I am a massive gear junkie, and I'm not knocking the ZZ at all I think it's a nice piece of kit but the main reason I wanted one was to use SRT with the RW but as someone else has unfortunately found out the hard way it's not a good idea, and after having a go on one at the weekend I think the cons out weigh the pros for me but I would be interested in a mk2 if they got rid of the swivel and added a third connection point and rounded it off nicely but we shall have to wait and see

So basically Marcus what your saying is, you'd buy a ZigZag if DMM made it? Ha Ha

I had a little blast on joes at Hatfield also, I will say its very nice lovely and smooth and smaller in the flesh than I imagined, I did only have a go in Drt mode but I can see why you all rave on about them, in my eyes though the smoothness of them is a weak point I don't think it would take much for something to touch the top and get caught up and send you huddling down a few feet, I might be wrong, if I was still climbing Drt then yes defiantly I would buy one but from an SRT point of few no ill stick to my hitch :thumbup1:

I have not been convinced that a zig zag is bad with an rw. If its ok with a Munter as it says in the instructions, why would it be bad with a rw?

I don't think there's nothing wrong with using it with a RW but I wouldnt keen myself using it SRT, I just think a hitch is just as good and can't see it benefiting my climbing anymore than a £25 piece of hitch cord :)

Its fine with a rw its just some fools put everyone off because they attached there tether to there bottom krab so the zz would pull down making the rack crush against the body but if you clip the tether into the top hole its spot on.
