looks a bit like horse chestnut in second pic? but the other pics look fibrous bark like a softwood? can we see growth rings and better pic of bark head on

Looks like crack willow to me as well. It is hardwood, but that's not seasoned. The bark falls off as it dries. Burns OK when dry, but not for long, as it's about as dense as balsa!

Yeah I was going to mention that when seasoned hard wood sheds bark like a ..... umm cant say that lol :D but yeah bark on makes me think its green.

 

I have no experience with willow (apart from planting it) and rare to see chestnut where I am :) So loving the info.
