Are people still climbing on prussiks...not that im knocking it,its basic,functional and works but its hugley unergonomic and hard on the body.

Mechanical friction devices coupled with ascenders are way more efficient and will prolong your career as well as up your productivity.

I still use a blakes hitch after 22 years, just saying like.:001_smile:

Anyone got any tips for keeping samurai saws in their scabbards? Every time I go up the tree it ends up falling out half way up. :thumbdown:

 

I haven't tried it myself as never had an issue (rarely take a silky up the tree these days!) but have seen several people use a strong magnet from a speaker or similar, taped to the sheath of the saw

a new silky zubat in new scabbard thats kept clean should rarely fall out.

think i had a samuri brand once but wasnt as nice as a silky, cheaper tho!

Is your saw/scabbard hardly used? It falls when you lean back? or you use it in your leg?

I've been using a samurai saw for just a couple of months and never experience the saw sliding out of the scabbard.
