Nah seriously, my old man has a massive arrow woodburner, shove it full of conifer it goes hot all night, put hardwood in it it just smoulders away. Unless of course it's barn dried for about a decade!

Ive been burning ash ,oak,spruce mixed same as we sell burns good and hot softwood seems to keep the oak burning well.But no wot you mean about softwood people just dont seem to wont it we do softwood on its own or mixed ash,oak with a small amount of softwood in but sell more ash,oak mixed

yes douglas is very good if dry we have sold 50 tons in the last 2months

but some people dont want to know there loss

burning Leylandii mixed with blue ceder at the moment. Great on the stove. The odd spit and bang, but who cares, it's a stove.

 

Just as good in my stove as dried ash.

Leylandii burns very hot when dry, it leaves next to no ash tho so you have to watch you don't let it get to low, I rate it!! :thumbup:

 

I reckon leylandii should be grown and harvested as biomass! :thumbup1:

burning ash mixed with leylandii tonight.

Just went into room and threw some more on,stood up and got my head entangled in mrs oldwoodcutters underpants and bras she's got hanging on an airer from the beam above it.
