I was with Spiral Tribe and my old VW was the go to ambulance / ambiance:001_smile:

Hey albedo - we're going to a party on a boat in London for spiral tribes 23rd birthday, all the old crew back in the UK for the first time since the mid 90's.

Just wish I was around in the early 90's to witness a great era in counter culture! I was in primary school though haha

This is interesting...The reason I mentioned it was to see if there's any still out there. A surprising number of the main players in ST were tree surgeons...at least 5 or 6 of them. We parted ways in 94 and I've only seen one or two of them since... when we crossed paths in Brighton. A lot ended up in France which is where they went after the big 'public nuisance / new sense ' court cases.:001_smile:

Do you have any more info on this boat party thing?

It's the scratches sometimes that cause the most problems.

A couple of month ago I ever so lightly tapped my wrist with the silky, it left three elongated pin prick holes.... No worries I thought.

Next day my wrist was aching....after a days work a lump came up near the sunken bit at the point where your thumb pivots. Two months on I experience pain every minute of the day every time I move my wrist.

Been to the doctors...anti inflammatorys wait...doctors again no change..refer..still waiting.

I have jagged my wrist directly over a tendon and I reckon I have nicked the big tendon and damaged the sheath it runs in, I reckon the tendon will have a Frey on it which is causing the pain.

Looking at an op to put it right and probably 6 -10 week recovery :001_rolleyes:

Went to see specialist yesterday who confirmed tendon damage but said he want to try a steroid injection first to see if the scar tissue on the tendon will go down enough to live with as an op may produce more scar tissue than the original wound.

He injected the steroids with some local anesthetic which was agony and I've been in agony all night, finally settled down this morning but the op is to use the hand as normal to try and wear in the scar tissue

All for three tiny pin pricks from a silky

It's often the little pricks that cause the most problems, mate . Hope you heal up soon. :thumbup1:

yesterday I took a full on impact off my silky, to my left hand, my end of my middle finger took the impact, very lucky....only nipped a chunk out if the nail bed, the gloves saved me, could have been drastic.

I was wearing wilko gardening gloves with velcro strap, Does anyone know where to buy them? my local has sold out. :(

Whipped of the end of my thumb a few days ago through glove. Really not frothing on the climbing everything I do is hurting! Removing 30m high lombrdis at the mo, rigiging everything down gotta use my hands way more than I wanna be. Gloves full of blood, oh yeah living the tree climbers dream
