  1. Huge tree flattens cars after narrowly missing playground in exclusive London square | Mail Online
  2. Thanks for the info! Also, judging by what I've heard about the new MS201, I would be inclined to go for the Husky. Would you agree?
  3. Hi all. I've been in the game for a while now and was thinking of buying my first top handle saw, and was thinking either of the above. Has anyone had experience with both that could give me some pointers, or even if anyone could recommend a model for their advantaged. Cheers!
  4. Where on earth is that plane tree! I must go to see it!

    O-Rig

good for bigger trees, with large limbwalks and long ascents. no point in anything smaller as it just gets too fiddly.
  6. if there's a rock climbing centre/shop near you have a venture in, they do pretty small helmets. then you just need to add ear muffs and visor
  7. if not rigidoporus, trametes gibbosa maybe?
  8. Dead oak, pull line attached to a tractor
  9. Hi all I'm just wondering if there are any telescopic saw/hook poles on the market, that retract to a small size for climbing use. I'm in the middle of a contract deadwooding Lime trees, with extensive epicormic growth all the way up. So somthing small enough to not get caught up, but can reach long enough to get tiny bits on the end of branches Anyone got any insight? Thanks in advance!
  10. got any pic of buds on an older branch?
  11. Where's the blue hitchclimber pully from? All I can find is red ones!!
  12. I do not know what weapons World War III will be fought with, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.
  13. Hi all, I posted on here a while back about my rope being extremely twisted and was after some remediations. I tried a few ideas like walking it out-streched though grass, running it a few times backward and forward through a cambium saver, but nothing worked. I've been working with it all twisted for a while now and I've got to a point where I get too pissed off limbing with it everyday! Cheers fellas
  14. are you self employed, or looking for full time employment? either way I would recommend ringing a load of companies in the yellow pages (i know there's a lot in northampton cause I'm from there too). once you've been working for a couple of people for a while, you start getting more contacts of people in the trade and then more work can build up.
  15. jeeeesus, can't believe that's an Elder!!!
  16. Just a video I found ealier on by accident, I was amazed!
  17. cheers for that, it looks like a pretty good idea!
  18. Could you explain the double line rope walker setup? Cheers!
  19. Why no artificial heat? I dried mine the other day in the airing cupboard!
  20. Awesome! Cheers guys, I'll have a look at the hitchclimbers guide!
  21. Hi all, Was just wondering if any of you have tweaked your climbing system in any way to create beneficial advantages when climbing on double rope technique. I found this one out a while back, it's pretty useful when advancing up a tall tree because the knot is self-tending and you can get nice long pulls. Would love to see what you guys know! Cheers!
  22. Hi all, Anyone know any decent books/DVDs on rigging? I know the basics of rigging but was just interested in more advanced techniques that are out there. Cheers!
  23. Clipped nerve, which has made an area of my hand constantly numb. Back when I did it, it took a good couple of months to regain the strength I had. Many boring days off work! Take it easy mate.
  24. It did yes! The blade went straight down onto my tensing arm with a lot of force, so I guess it just split open!
