A few bits and bobs from recent works. Mainly me learning how to and not to use a digger to feed a chipper.
We also donated a carving by Shaun Gilbert to the primary school I went too along with wooden chalkboards and a few other wood related items.

Nice work and pics Ian.

Finishing up a three day oak clearance and grind, nice way to see off the week.

No climb Friday, should be a hashtag or something.

A ongoing job this week, a little out of the ordinary for us but made a horse starvation paddock with 5" of chip covering the grass so far 140m³ of chip has gone in which has nicely emptied my yard. DSC_2093.jpegDSC_2092.jpeg
The botex has been brilliant for the corners and edges.
Another ongoing job for me has made a leap forward today, getting the cherrypicker sorted, gear box is back, engine is back next week so fitted a new wing to replace the damaged one and gave the whole thing a spray tan, just the bars to finish in black on Monday.DSC_2073.jpeg

Another monster macrocarpa .

A big ugly bugger, 18' long and a full 6' at the butt. Needed to block up the frames to get high enough to strip off the top levels, but as this had all the large branch sites, I could whack them off in large lumps of waste to get into the premium wood quickly.

Soon got sick of onto the ladder to flip the blade then step across onto platform, then up onto the log to cut, repeated for every cut !

9x6" x 18' is a bloody heavy lump for 2 people to handle especially in todays 28° heat and with a recently fused ankle that I'm still learning to walk on.20180704_102211.thumb.jpeg.ff958476a2688bd45ac2c19baa91b105.jpeg20180704_102155.thumb.jpeg.8ed29063373e10af882c2774cd60612c.jpeg
