So today I got to revisit an old friend:     My first encounter was a year ago when I damn near cut through her in a cavity in the underside of an ash branch in a nature reserve.

A mate of mines has my fast tow trailer on long term hire. In return he's upgrading the system with lock off valves to stop the slew from being able to move during road transport. [ATTACH]177690[/ATTACH]

 

Would a ratchet strap not be simpler???

Probably but..... If anything was to loosen during transport. Ie like when I took out a 30mph sign because a bounce shook a strap off.

 

Did the same to a 60 sign with stabiliser leg on a farmi forwarding trailer that used to creep down while travelling.

At least you only took out the sign and not the leg!

 

Would have done on most trailers but this thing was built twice as strong as it needed to be!

Twas quite a few years ago now and that trailer is long gone, now the problem is remebering to lock the steering drawbar so it doesn't wander out the sides :confused:
