i'd be shot if i didn't have that down by the time the customer came back out with the brews lol :thumbup:

 

i try not to use the spikes if i can help it even tho i have them on to assist me.. im still a rookie :) the job didnt take long,, was just a simple delimb top and then fell the stick

Yesterdays job:

 

Attempted large oak fell by local land owner with 12" spear and jackson chainsaw didnt go to plan as you can see in the first 2 pics! Another firm had a go at felling by adding more cuts before bottling it and calling for help.

 

Scary thing was hardly a small tree and was in falling distance of a footpath, tree had been severed all the way round from the previous attemps at felling the tree with back cut lower than face cut!!

Good job getting her safely down. I hate finishing other peoples work like this, you feel nervous just walking up on a pre-cut tree. I like how your hinge was caught on the gob and back cut, was that the dawgs catching a buttress? not a criticism in any way, just curious.

 

Well done!

 

In all honesty i was crapping myself as the wind was gusting like mad and i could see their previous cuts opening and closing whilst i was working! Even found a used chainsaw file in one of their old cuts!

 

I should of felled slightly higher or trimmed the butresses but i was kind of rushing!!
