Started a new project creating shelter and dry habitat areas for young Cappercaillies.  On the end of the first day heading back to the jeep there were 2 scratching around on the first patch I did that morning.   They took off just as I got to them but I managed to get a picture of 1 in the tree.

I organised a PICUS test for a customers tree earlier in the year as they were concerned about the age and winds from the fjord.  Tree stem was sound at the test height, but there was a bit of die back within the upper crown.  Small amounts of deadwood and a lift required over the roof to try and reduce the moss growing on the roof.

 

Went there on Wednesday for a quick half day and knocked it out.

 

Customer happy and should last a few more years now.

Pretty savage last couple of days. Big old euc over 2 gardens to handball out. No access for machinery so the skidsteer stayed home for this one.

 

Had to resort to pure graft, which was exactly as gratifying as i imagined it would be.

Mature Elm hanging over a reception and sea lion enclosure, down and gone in under 2.5 hours.

 

Used maybe half a tank of fuel in each of the saws.
