Unusual freebies from customers

I worked with a contractor we used to use before the company he was with went up the creek. I only worked with him for 2 weeks as one of his lads was on paternity leave. I got a free shoot day with anyone i wanted to invite and they got a free day as well. It turned out the day was a 450 bird mixed day worth about £1250 per gun. I still keep in touch with the keeper and the ex-contractor as they work together on the same estate now.

I don't think so. Like I say, old school and farmers are out with the tea and stickies and lunch but most other places it just doesn't seem to be in the psyche. It's not ignorance or people being rude. I gave a spare box of beers to the rubbish collection guys last year and they looked at me like it might be poisoned. I had to convince them it was OK and it was just in thanks for not chucking my rubbish down the road every week. I get the same attitude be it from my private customers or when I'm working my council job. It's worse in the cities and towns. You get used to it but it's far different from being in the UK (at least IMO) when we got fed and watered nearly every job.

We get tea or coffee and biscuits if the clients around, and a meal every couple weeks I guess.

Normally offered but a subtle "we couldnt beg a cup of coffee could we?" works every single time (never been turned down)

People just dont think of it sometimes I think
