I loved the pomp and ceremony of the Thames fleet, incredible feat of organisation. I also like the way this occasion has pulled the country together again. Everywhere you go there is flags and bunting and the Union flag flies proudly across the spectrum of housing, from council houses to big smart pads. People have mown lawns, trimmed hedges, litter picked and generally spruced up the country, taken a pride in this country once again.

Its the Union flag, not an Empire flag, the flag of the United Kingdom, England , Wales Scotland and N ireland.

Been out most of the day, so watching on the telly just now, very impressive.

 

I also watched the program the other night with all the family films, was really interesting.

 

Many countries would love to have the history our great nation has, lets be proud and enjoy it!!!

Great pictures! I was there too - hung around just downstream of Tower Bridge for a while (in the pouring rain) then walked the Thames path down to the Cutty Sark. Fantastic sights and amazing to see the crowds.
