Looked at a HUGE takedown today, Poplar, easily 70ft tall and not far off 70ft spread. Covers five gardens, all with poor access, too far from the road for crane to be used, so chogged down and hand-balled through the gardens. It's about 6ft diameter at the base!!!

It's a real monster, we are talking MS441 with 26inch bar at 50ft +. Gonna make me sweat for a good few days that one. I reckon easily 1 week's proper hard graft

Client said to keep costs down he'll keep all the branches and wood, but I reckon just one limb will fill his garden up!

I'll put the price in (yet to be worked out) but I'll be surprised if he goes for it, I find people quite often do not appreciate what's needed in big takedowns like this.

Be a great one to get and break out the old head-cam again though.

Random post I know, just wanted to share.

Sounds like one to remember. Whatever people say about poplars, they can be stunning trees. My grandad tilled one when he came here in the 30's and it was taken apart a couple years ago. Absolute monster of a tree.

Sounds like a riggers heaven.

Don't be surprised if they use a cowboy (based on price) as he'll offer to repair all the fencing at no cost because he's also a fencer, landscaper and driveway specialist.

Really hope you get it though. Just make sure you really price it well other wise it will be a riggers hell.

As I see it, you have two options. Firstly, you bring in a Chinook or secondly, you bravely run away!

Look forward to seeing the pictures if you do do it though!
