How hard to hit this hedge?

Ok, got another big hedge to tackle,lucky me.

Client wants as much as possible to be taken off, as much as a third!

They have been topped before, I was thinking of going just below those points which would be 10ft or so.

Don't want it to look daft but I've stressed it will if you cut it in half!

It's a job for later in the year, after nesting season, plus I don't have the time ATM to do it all at once.

I was thinking a tracked mewp in for a couple days.

Pics 1,2 & 6 looks like you could take 40% out of the height at a push if they want it hard,the others are a bit sparse on growth low down,so maybe 30% off the green canopy. Pic5 looks like it could cope with a 40 % total height reduction too.

Just my opinion,will be interested to see what others think,so take no notice of my thoughts.:001_smile:

Maybe less if we get a good drought as in my area.

Mewp will make the job 10 times quicker - However..

If they want to save on long term maintenance - i'd recomment a 100% height reduction and plant something more sensible around the edge.

Whereas, I'd recommend reducing it and then keeping it tidy with an annual trim.

Because I have a tracked MEWP. :sneaky2::biggrin:
