We all know that its very easy to go in with a low price when thats the only job you've had the opportunity to price all week.

Much harder to give that potential client a price that you are going to make a good profit on after all your blood sweat and tears.

I priced a massive eucy sunday morning overhanging 2 other pristine gardens and a summerhouse with every last inch of it lowered and dragged through a 3ft gate at £600.She nearly fell over. When i asked her whats the cheapest quote she's had so far she said £150.

Tell her to take it. :001_smile:

Its daft, the mentality of those that we price against sometimes!!

Would love to see how the 150-00 job goes :D pop corn time :D

Had the same last week, 2-day Walnut, very technical rigging.

She'd had a price of £350, which I advised her to take. She then said he couldn't do it, and had let her down.

I gave her my price and she said 'It takes me a fortnight to earn that much'.

I enquired if she took £40k's worth of kit and someone else to work with her?

She didn't get it at all.

Doesn't bother me much any more, she probably makes appallingly distasteful and insipid tea anyway with economy teabags.

We will never earn what we are worth because we are doing a job we enjoy so much (most days!).

How many people do you reckon are on Plumberstalk.co.uk having the crack with their mates and posting pics of tap washers they have fitted that day?

I have a simple opinion about prices in the Arb, neh al lthe lland based sectors, we under value our selves, that is fed b a perseption of undervaluing a 'manual trade' so we under value our selves so we price in an undervalued way.

alas all green trades seem stuck in a perpetual spiral of trying to cut eachothers throat while continuing the undervaling of work

my goodness what a depressing post...
