Went to price a job today and could not believe my eyes

After nearly 30 years in the business I thought I had been there and done it but today I went to Birmingham to price a job and when I got to site I could not believe what I saw in front of me.

 

The address was a bit vauge so I called the guy 5 mins before the sat nav said I would be there and met him on a nearby car park, he was smartly dressed, mid twenties and in a nice and clean smallish car (didn't take any notice what it was). I followed him a short distance to a gypsy/traveller site.

 

I was gob smacked to say the least, they want some big old trees felled and a few others trimmed, the spec was a bit hit and miss and seemed to be made up as we went along with some of it backed up by phones calls to the different owners of various vans on the site.

 

There was various piles of logs and branches throughout the site and even some wood chip piles.

Maybe there got a job about the same and don't no what to charge? Was it going to be for cash.

well there must be something wrong there maybe tpo or more likely not their land.

I'm guessing they want some new gear, you pull with the van, chipper and saws etc,out come the shot guns and dags and it's game over

nope, this is simples, they dont want to do it emsleves cos they want all their vans in one piece after!
