well it rained did it rain then the wind came and it was a blowing a goodin 2am this morning. went out this morning breezy but about it most roads that come from country looked like they where open so does not look as if we had that much come down. heard public transport disrupted. news more rain todaY PM SO THATS ME DOING NOT MUCH TODAY:thumbdown:

woke up at 4.30am to a proper gale, lashing it down. back to sleep, just woke up (day off, no climbing today!) and it's calmed a little bit, but still must be 30mph+ with the odd 60mph gust.

Looking at the pressure charts yesterday, it would appear that only the coast from southern Cornwall to maybe Suffolk were going to get it bad. Sure it was tamping down last night and my brother who has just completed another 'OMM', said the wind made things hard going. But even out on the open fells, he reckoned it wasn't half as bad as the 2007 event.

 

No, I'm glad we've still go trees aplenty. Down to a wood tomorrow, so safety check first me thinks. And if the wind is slight, a few more Ash, Sycamore and Elder to clear.

I went out at half four to check on some stock. Walked back up home and it rained so hard, never seen ought like it.

Not too much wind, but two inches of rain in half an hour or so.
