Can anyone tell me why the stope wrench is so expensive?

You're paying for the design, testing, concept, several prototypes that were made before the release. Then there's a but of profit for isc, presumably a bit of profit for Kevin. Then there's the VAT. All in all it's not expensive when you consider what it does and what it took to get it to the stage it's at:)

Because EVERYTHING's expensive these days.

And we're getting old and beginning to sound like our parents..... 'I remember when you could buy a Marathon and get change from a twenty pence piece. And a gallon of fuel and a Sunday paper AND get change from a fiver!' :laugh1:

Sorry, just seen my spelling.

I haven't got one yet but am thinking about it. I only thought it was expensive because I saw how much a petzl hand acender is £40 odd and thought thats not a bad price.

God, I am turning into my dad. :)

They're not really comparable though, a hand ascender has limited use, whereas the wrench is on all the time. Looking at it that way the wrench is far more valuable imo:)
