I haven't been pulled in ten years, what'd they expect you to do read up on every peice of legislation passed for everything.

It would be interesting to guage what revenue this brings in,

10, or 20 million applicants at £50 per year, and we just roll over and let them scratch our balls

niether have I dean but I know that the chances are higher in future of being stopped. Now the EA are taking active roles in roadside checks.

As for revenue your guess is a good as mine but it will end up in hm governments bank account to waste not the EA budget!!!

We already have a license so It dont matter to me and I think it is a good thing ONLY when they start pulling EVERY1 over and ask to see the license then promptly fine them. Otherewise I'm paying £100 a year for absolutly nowt.

This is the problem with so many of these laws: technically to fell large trees you should have the large tree ticket but who has? If they're not prepared to enforce them they should'nt make them.

Guys, just to clarify-

You MUST have a WASTE CARRIERS LICENCE for transporting arb waste.

If you take that material to a place where you turn it into logs, mulch etc, then you need to make sure you are exempt from needing a waste management licence.

They are making this easy for you by saying that arb waste centre's are exempt from needing a WASTE MANAGEMENT LICENCE. But you must register for the exemption.

Personally, if you cant keep up with the legislation that governs your business, go and get a 9-5 job.

And if you'r caught transporting Arb waste without a licence, or processing it without an exemption, expect a large fine.

But that's not a law. It is law that you need a chainsaw ticket or supervision, but no actual law once you've got that one.

Unless someone wants to correct me.....

It isn’t “illegal” to operate a chainsaw (in a commercial environment) but some form of competence is mandatory .

In order for something to be illegal (against the law) it needs to contravene common (case) law or contravene law laid down in an act of parliament.

There is no specific law that makes it illegal to use a chainsaw but the HSE says you SHOULD have some formal competency thus making it mandatory.

If an accident occurred where the “accidentee” was performing an operation that has a competency and the “accidentee” didn’t hold that competency, I daresay the HSE might want to take a look.

Any competency does not need to be NPTC but since that body is the predominant force in the market it’s simpler to do that than re invent the wheel.
