Flip it baby!!!! Flip it.....

Was cool to watch the action but not so cool as a documentary, as you was not 100% certain it would jump that far how can you be so sure that all you did was right and not just a fluke...... :confused1:

i don't mean it in a sarcastic way i just mean, if i put a gob in something either to lower it, just cut it or cut to throw then i know when i do it, it will do and go were i want it to 99.9% of the time:sneaky2: (Left the 0.1% out for un-calculated human error:001_tt2:) but your situation you must of been ?????say 50-50 it would work or not....how can you justify trying something like that with the chance of damaging other peoples property....i'm sure if it went wrong they would not be getting you back in or recommending you to anyone else...

Still a cool video though:thumbup:

the remaioning stick was 40' and was dropped the opposite way, from the ground in one cut.

There was one interesting phenomenon which is fairly obvious when looking at the cut on the ground, yet I didn't catch until I watched the slow motion wide angle a few times.. The piece spun 180º as it fell, leaving the notch facing up..

That has my wheels turning.. might be a nice way to get clearance when there are side limbs interfering with the LZ..

To understand the stupidity of Dadio's techniques people should pause this video at 11.30 mins and analyse exactly what is happening at that moment......

At 11.30 mins we can see the cameraman almost directly in line with the loaded rope which has been tightened almost to the point of failure, to put it simply - it is now essentially...a deadly rubber band as taught as a piano wire.

If that rope were to snap at the anchor point in the tree it would probably have enough force to kill the cameraman or at the very least leave the him needing severe facial reconstruction surgery. Many people have been killed by recoiling ropes.

Added to that - Dadio is using a Samson True Blue treeclimbing rope which he has deemed fit to be used as a winching cable.

What we are witnessing here is someone with very poor knowledge and understanding of forces and equipment - combined with little concern for his fellow workers (the cameraman).
