Wow that was painful. Do they have safety cones in the UK for securing a work area? I wonder if that safety tape was HSE approved?. Wonder how they disposed of the trunk/limbs afterwards?. At least here in the states most fire departments have at least one chain saw to work with and usually one person to work it.

The fire brigade terrify me, you only need to watch the old 999 series to see how little idea they have about anything they have not done a course for. And they seem to lack common sense and initiative.

 

When I first started felling for my own firewood (20 years ago) I used to tell the wife that if she came out and found me under a tree don't ring the fire service, ring the farmer.
