Timberwolf leaky fuel cap

Evening,

 

Anyone have any problems with the seal on the fuel cap? the tank was quite full and with a few bumpy bits along the way some fuel has come out..... then it runs down the trailer chassis and anywhere it wants lol,

 

Just wondering if this is common at all?? fuel filler cap doesn't seem the best seal/fit etc

yep, have excatly the same problem and its been something ive been meaning to fix from about 2 years ago !lol

Ive just put a new cap on mine, better but still sloshes a little when full

Chris the lock is a bit tricky, tighten the cap until it locks, then hold it in place while you turn the key.

it shouldn't leak mate.

mines an old one and doesnt have such mod cons as a lock so i guess the rubber seal inside the cap is knackered

Isn't there a plate around where the cap is that has pipes running into it?I'll look at mine in the morning. Mine does the same and I thought it was the seal around that not the cap?

Take it back to where you bought it:thumbup:

surely a few weeks warranty on things like this is not too much:biggrin:

 

just check the rubber seal or get a new one which are not dear and available from local auto shops

lost mine years ago, use a petrol station replacement, bit of spillage; no big deal

He'd be wasting his time trying to get it sorted under warranty, I heard the guy he bought it off is well dodgy!!!

I think LDV locking fuel caps fit. Either that or just fill the tank with expanding foam
