My understanding (we have four children) is that any exercise that you have been doing before you were pregnant is fine while you are pregnant.

But new excises are to be taken with great care.

The first trimester is the best time to be doing it though, so you should be OK, some can go through the first trimester without even knowing they are pregnant!!

If you feel you can do it, do it!

The idea that pregnant women should sit still as soon as an egg is fertilized is hopelessly outdated. Stay active, stay fit and stay healthy.

If this is in your normal pattern of excercise, go for it. It's fine as long as you don't fall into the "keep excercising to keep thin" trap as you'll damage yourself and possibly your child.

Go climb a tree!

If it was my wife, I would say a big no.

It's just not worth the risk imo.

I'm sure you're a big girl & can make your own judgements on your abilities, but I would say there are too many variables in relation to trees & climbing to be a safe environment for someone in your position.

What if you slip and fall and land badly against a branch or trunk !

Stay safe for you and yours :001_smile:

Go for it. We have survived for hundreds of thoudsands of years and it is only in the last hundred or so that we have got so precious about things. My wife never changed a thing bout her life (around horses and animals of all sorts, breaking and schooling horses, lambing down sheep, working with all manner of domesticated and wild animals etc etc) and our son is the picture of health and well-being in every way.

I would say that your GP has more insight to it than your friends etc too.

Your baby is in a wonderfully safe place, protected from all knocks and what have you, the fitter you stay, the better your baby will do!

Go for it!

I agree with Dave. The excercise isnt an issue, its the risk of fall that would concern me. Whilst its true you could just as easily fall down the stairs(my wife did 2 weeks into her first pregnancy), why tempt fate?

I'd agree with David and Steve. I wouldn't be happy if I was running the course. IMO the risk of falling and slipping is something that I wouldn't want if Mrs Tommy_B was expecting. Just my two pennies worth.:001_smile:
