Heard a story from someone who had a customer complain about the noise of the chipper working during the day and was worried about disturbing the neighbours as well. The garden was at the end of the runway for Leeds/Bradford airport. There is no pleasing some people.

I have always found most residents love watching us work, they find it entertaining. And they appreciatte how hard we work, they say its refreshing to see guys working hard and love watching someone up the tree and then the chippers working.

i had my next door neighbour and a gardener start cutting his hedge next to my house at 5am on a monday morning, lucky for me ive just picked up a job next to his house other side and thats a holiday home so i can start that at same time for his pleasure.

I take my hat off to a guy up at 5am cutting hedges, he is trying to earn money. If you dont want woken up at night just put in earplugs:biggrin:

I was pruning trees in a garden a few years ago when a lady I recognised appeared and was verbally abusive to me about the amount of noise we were making.

 

The lady was my client!!!

i like it when you have been working for a good couple of hours, saws doing their bit, bit of chipping, and then someone comes out moaning they work nights and expect you to go away or to be quiet...

fully respect that night workers would find this annoying, but the attitude of some people is something else which you just cant please.

As someone said- people do like watching us- all ripply muscles and man fat sweaty bodies- it's almost pornographic- maybe we should work nights
