I use a bow line on a big dan to conect slings or a half hitch then back on the krab combo..notch timber if theres gonna be a big swing esp on beach and eucy, tag lines are very handy in some scenarios and refuse to work if your boss puts an inexperienced person on the rope! the only roping operation ive had go completly tits up was when i had this first day groundy who had an obsesion with trying to melt his gloves with a running rope then letting it bite with the on full swing over the target you can guess the rest ....i didnt know if i wanted to punch the groundy for not listening...probably not understanding what i was trying to explain or my boss for taking the rest of the experienced off crew to start a job around the corner.

Don't know what the hitch is called :confused1:

But I go round the timber once, half hitch round the rope then back round the timber the opposite way and crab back to the rope.

It's solid on anything, very quick and has never slipped off owt.

I'll probably get some drivel now as to weakening the SWL with this knot or other. :001_tongue:

I think Tim is referring to the other pic, where you are cutting with one anchor :sneaky2:

Don't have a problem personally:001_smile:

Oh, that pic! Yeah answer one then, cos I didn't tie in twice.

Comfy position, climb line almost vertical, cuttign away etc etc.......
