  6. LOL Think i agree but if we did not have them we would lose some amazing trees.
  7. We applied for thinning out and was refused so had to stick strictly to 20 percent. The problem was massive internal epicormic growth made climbing very difficult. I know exactly what your saying me an the customer agreed to but im not one to piss off the council lol:laugh1:
  8. An oak we did friday All abuse welcome lol
  9. Went on the weight bridge today for my specific truck which now has custom chipbox 10ft ally body its obviously a crewcab also climbing gear and usual tools per day. Plus 85kgs of me. with no load on it was exactly 2500kgs unlaiden. Which means it can carry 1 tonne hope this helps other crewcab drivers. And most normal tippers are 2350kgs ally maybe 2200kgs
  10. They aint a kg lighter i wish. They are just as strong as steel but roughly 30% lighter and yes on a long job they do make a difference. The velcro is comfty quick and easy to use. I have them so i think there the best simples.
  11. All good stuff to know. Got a 10ft ally back on it how much would some one guess i could carry.
  12. This aint a career for money making. Hard work crap pay mucho enjoyment.
  13. Can u get a decent amount of chip on and how would you know you have overloaded the front axles. I know happy springs or just above level for the rear.
  14. So is that an official figure 1.25 tonne capacity. Thats not to bad so almost exactly the same as single cab.
  15. The problem is i have been offered one with ally body told weighs under 2 tonne or there abouts. I aint a fan of crewcabs but ill leaning to the darkside. Any one got pros and cons compared to normal size tipper. Would appreciate helpful advice.
  16. All i can say is starting a business which currently has to many companys chasing to little work in a recession is just stupid. Alot of people in the next few years are coming unstuck but i look forward to buying all the cheap gear they will be forced to sell just mo.
  17. Honda got one on my chipper an i work her hard and in 2 years its never stopped got a kohler stumpy and been good but not as powerful as the honda. so HONDA
  18. I got a little 6 inch 24hp TW and love it so tiny yet will fill my transit in 30mins easy. I can get 4 full loads a day done at my max capacity. official figure is 2.5 tonne per hour quite simple really. based on 4 inch wood so reality of varying size wood 3 tonne per hour more likely.
  19. I cant only tow 750 im only 23 so aint got round to bigger toys yet. I was thinking can you tow 5 tonne plus 750 all in gtw 5750kgs I have not a clue but would like to know how i can increase my capacity
  20. What about a 5 tonne iveco would that carry the same as your average mog.
  21. How have you doubled your profits im interested just what can i mog hold in chip n logs. I would have thought the cost of 1 mog equats to same running cost as 2 trannys. I know they carry so impressive chippers etc
  22. Im sure mogs are gr8 but damn they must cost a bomb to run.
  23. Update, Just had another look at my bottom feed roller and yes the hydro unit has some slight play over the studs the holes are slightly bigger then they should be is this a new unit or can i get the outer shell. Its working fine so should i let sleeping dogs lie untill a problem occurs.??
